'AIKAHI
Volunteers sought for playground's final touch

Work at 'Aikahi playground continues today and more volunteers are needed to complete the project.

The $150,000 project is being built entirely by volunteers.

Hundreds of people, most of them Marines, have worked steadily on the project since Feb. 9, and Friday was the beginning of the big push to assemble the pieces and bolt them in place.

The Friends of Aikahi Playground had hoped to finish yesterday but finishing touches are left to do.

Work begins at 8 a.m. In addition to labor, the project needs snacks and sandwiches to fuel workers.

The school is located at 281 Ilihau St.
