'EWA
Lane on Fort Weaver closed 7 a.m. to 1 p.m.

The left lane of Fort Weaver Road southbound between Laulaunui Street and Old Fort Weaver Road will be closed between 7 a.m. and 1 p.m. daily this week for traffic signal system installation.

The work is part of the state Department of Transportation's project to widen Fort Weaver Road from four lanes to six, adding an additional traffic lane in each direction from 'A'awa Drive to Geiger Road. Phase II is expected to be completed in mid-2009 at a total cost of $59.85 million.

Motorists are advised to use caution while driving through the work areas and to allow for extra travel time. Roadwork is weather-permitting.
