WAIMALU
Hit-and-run victim was Margaret Gordon, 83

A pedestrian who died Feb. 7 after she was struck by a hit-and-run driver near the Kam Swap Meet has been identified by the medical examiner's office as Margaret Gordon, 83, of 'Aiea.

Gordon was walking uphill near the KFC restaurant about 2:15 a.m. and was partially on Kaonohi Street — but not in a crosswalk — when she was hit by a car that fled the scene, police said.

A witness described the makai-bound car as possibly a white Cadillac or a similar vehicle, police said. The car may have sustained damage to the right front or side, including damage to the right headlight or windshield, police said.

Gordon, who lived in the 'Aiea area, was taken in critical condition to The Queen's Medical Center, where she died.

Anyone with information on the case is asked to call the Honolulu Police Department's Traffic Investigation section at 529-3499.
