Lead actor withdraws from MVT's 'Tuesday with Morrie'

Advertiser Staff

One of the lead actors in the upcoming Manoa Valley Theatre production "Tuesdays with Morrie" has withdrawn because of health reasons, a spokeswoman for the theater said this morning.

Glenn Cannon will be replaced by Greg Howell in the role of Morrie Schwartz, the ailing college professor of famed writer Mitch Albom who developed and eventually died from amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS). The play, which premiers March 18 and runs through April 5, follows Albom as he learns life lessons from Schwartz, his mentor, during weekly visits to the ailing professor's house. The play is based on a true story and adapted from Albom's best-selling book.

Tickets are $30. Call 988-6131 or go to www.manoavalleytheatre.com for more information.
