DLNR seeks comment on 'Recreational Renaissance' plan

The state Department of Land and Natural Resources is inviting the public to attend a series of statewide public information meetings this month on the department's "Recreational Renaissance" plan, DLNR said today in a news release.

The plan focuses on restoring and preserving Hawaii's state parks, trails and ocean recreation facilities.

"We are encouraging state park users and boaters, hunters and fishers, campers and hikers and anyone who wants to see improvements to these recreational areas to come and listen to our plan and give their input," DLNR chairperson Laura H. Theilen said in a statement.

The updated meeting schedule:

Maui: Tomorrow night, 5 to 7 p.m., Maui Waena Intermediate School, 95 Onehe Ave.

Hilo: Friday, Feb. 27, 5 to 7 p.m., State Office Building, 75 Aupuni St.

West Hawaii: Friday, Feb. 27, 5 to 7 p.m., Waikoloa Elementary School, 68-1730 Hooko St.

East Honolulu: Tuesday, March 3, 6 to 8 p.m., Kamiloiki Elementary School, 7788 Hawaii Kai Drive.

Molokai: Wednesday, March 4, 2 to 4 p.m., Mitchell Pauole Community Center, Kaunakakai.

Lanai: Thursday, March 5, 2 to 4 p.m., Lanai Public Library.
