Big Island boys Kaleo Wassman, Bret Bollinger and Yesod Williams — better known as the homegrown reggae-dub-rock band Pepper — are back in town for a few shows this weekend.

Now based in Los Angeles, Pepper is staying busy doing what they do best: making music and making big impressions on big crowds.

We caught up with the guys for a quick minute, just to check in and make sure they haven't forgotten us. Fresh off the Pacific Northwest portion of their latest tour, Williams, the band's drummer, answered our five questions and then obliged our curiosity by telling us what the first five songs are on his iPod.

1. True or false: Once local boys, always local boys.

TRUE. In all capitals!

2. You guys have built a reputation for putting on one heck of a show. Anything especially crazy planned for your upcoming Hawai'i shows?

That's the beautiful thing — nothing is ever planned, which makes it the most crazy ever!

3. If you could relive one of your greatest concerts again, which one would it be?

Probably when we were doing an acoustic encore of a NOFX song and Fat Mike from NOFX played acoustic bass with us on stage. Legendary!

4. What do you consider to be your best record to date?

"Kona Town." Everyone seems to like that one the best. Chee!

5. You guys have been together for over a decade now. Can we count on another 10 years of Pepper?
