Weather: Sunny today, isolated showers tonight

A high pressure located area far north of the Hawaiian island chain will keep moderate trade winds blowing through Tuesday, the National Weather Service said.

Another high pressure system will build far north northwest of the state by mid-week, bringing stronger northeasterly winds to the islands.

Rainfall will remain rather light again today, and will be limited mainly to windward and mauka areas, forecasters said.

Here's how the start of the new work week is shaping up:

Today: Sunny, with a high near 79. East wind between 11 and 13 mph.

Tonight: Isolated showers before midnight. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 65. East wind between 11 and 13 mph. Chance of precipitation is 20%.

Tuesday: Isolated showers. Partly cloudy, with a high near 79. East wind between 11 and 14 mph. Chance of precipitation is 20%.

Tuesday Night: Isolated showers. Partly cloudy, with a low around 68. East wind around 14 mph. Chance of precipitation is 20%.

Wednesday: Isolated showers. Partly cloudy, with a high near 79. East wind between 16 and 18 mph, with gusts as high as 23 mph. Chance of precipitation is 20%.

Wednesday Night: Isolated showers. Partly cloudy, with a low around 68. East wind around 18 mph, with gusts as high as 23 mph. Chance of precipitation is 20%.
