Advertiser Staff

The state House of Representatives voted 48-2 today in favor of a resolution urging Gov. Linda Lingle and Attorney General Mark Bennett to drop their United States Supreme Court appeal against the Office of Hawaiian Affairs on the ceded lands issue.

Representatives Lynn Finnegan, R-32nd (Lower Pearlridge, 'Aiea, Halawa), and Kimberly Pine, R-43rd ('Ewa Beach, Iroquois Point, Pu'uloa), were the only members casting "no" votes.

The Senate passed the same resolution, introduced by Sen. Clayton Hee, D-23rd (Kane'ohe, Kahuku), on Friday, 22-2.

The U.S. Supreme Court is slated to hear oral arguments on the issue Wednesday.
