Gov. Linda Lingle has released $1.5 million in design and construction funds for improvements at Waimea High School on Kauai to meet Americans with Disabilities Act guidelines, the state said in a news release.

Project work includes design and construction of ramps, elevators or chairlifts to access second-floor facilities, as well as other corrective measures to ensure that the campus is fully accessible to students and visitors.

Lingle previously released $710,841 in design and construction funds for this project.

Design is ongoing and scheduled to be completed in June 2009. Construction is scheduled to begin in September 2009 and be completed in August 2010.
