KAHULUI
Low water pressure expected Thursday night

Homes and business in Kahului may experience low water pressure Thursday night while contractors move an 18-inch water main near Waiale Road, according to the county Department of Water Supply.

The project is scheduled for 9 p.m. Thursday to 5 a.m. Friday.

All customers in Kahului are expected to have low water pressure. However, those at higher elevations will be most affected, the agency said. These areas include homes surrounding Lihikai School between Onehe'e Avenue, Palama Drive, South Wakea Avenue and Ka'ahumanu Avenue. Maui Waena Intermediate School also will experience low water pressure that night.

All customers on the Central and South Maui water system are urged to conserve water during the work period by turning off irrigation systems and other nonessential uses of water.
