A live "Aloha Shorts" taping Sunday will feature a preview of local author Lisa Linn Kanae's upcoming story collection.

Kanae's new book, "Islands Linked by Ocean," will be published by Bamboo Ridge Press next month, but guest readers Aito Simpson Steele and Donalyn Dela Cruz will give the radio show audience a preview.

The free event at Atherton Studio also offers a chance to pre-order the book and meet Kanae.

House band Hemajang will start the event at 6:45 p.m. and the readings start at 7 p.m. Along with selections from Kanae's book, the readings will include work by other authors that honor mothers.
