The University of Hawai'i men's and women's swimming and diving teams travel to Texas for conference championships beginning today. The women are at the Western Athletic Conference Championships in San Antonio, while the men are at the Conference USA Championships in Houston.

Both conference championships conclude Saturday. Last year, the UH men were second behind SMU. The Rainbow Wahine were third, behind Nevada and Northern Arizona.

Emma Berry won three gold medals at the WAC last year, while Emma Friesen captured the 1-meter diving and Raquel Bartlow was second in the 3-meter and platform. All three are juniors this season. Friesen also won the 1-meter at the NCAA Championship,

Earlier this month Friesen, from North Vancouver, finished fourth on the 1-meter and fifth on the 3-meter at the Canadian Winter Senior National Championships. She was named to the Canadian National Diving Team following her performance.
