'Curtains' rising tonight at Army Community Theatre

Advertiser Staff

The lure of the theater is great, even for a top-notch police lieutenant trying to solve a murder.

That's the basis of "Curtains," the Army Community Theatre production, which has its Hawaii premiere at 7:30 tonight and runs through March 14 at Richardson Theatre, Fort Shafter.

The musical whodunit comedy is directed by Vanita Rae Smith and stars Tom Holowach as police Lt. Frank Cioffi, who arrives at Boston's Colonial Theatre in 1959 to investigate the death of the leading lady (played by Tina Shelton). Other lead parts are played by Lenny Klompus as the over-the-top director of the musical-within-the-musical and Shanan Colvin as new leading lady Niki Harris.

Tickets are $20 and $28 and can be purchased at Army Community Theatre Box Office, 438-4480 or armytheatre.com.
