Police have released additional information about a traffic crash on the Likelike Highway early this morning that killed three people, saying the driver of the 2001 Audi was 30 years old.

Also killed were a 25-year-old man who was a passenger in the front right seat and a 22-year-old woman who was sitting in the rear seat. Their identities were not released.

No other vehicles were involved in the crash, police said.

Two airbags deployed and the front seat passenger was wearing a seatbelt, police said. It was not known if the other two victims were wearing seatbelts at the time of the crash.

Speed was an apparent factor in the crash, which occurred in the northbound lanes of the highway at the entrance to Wilson Tunnel. It has not been determined yet if the use of alcohol or drugs was also a factor.
