High surf advisory continuing for all east shores

Advertiser Staff

A high surf advisory issued by the National Weather Service remains in effect for the north-facing shores of all islands.

Rough and choppy surf of 6 to 8 feet is expected along the affected shorelines today.

The advisory is expected to remain in effect until 6 a.m. Monday.

Elsewhere on Oahu today, expect surf of 6 to 9 feet along north-facing shores and 1 to 3 feet along west- and south-facing shores.

Outlook through Wednesday, March 4: The short-period northeast swell combined with strong trade winds will maintain rough and choppy surf near the high surf advisory threshold along east-facing shores into next week.

Small surf from southern hemisphere sources will continue Friday, with waves wrapping around from the east providing additional small surf at some locations exposed to that direction along south-facing shores.
