Gale warning in effect for Alenuihaha Channel

Advertiser Staff

The National Weather Service has posted a gale warning for the Alenuihaha Channel between Maui and the Big Island.

The warning will remain in effect until 6 p.m. tomorrow night.

Boaters are cautioned that a gale warning means winds of 34 to 47 knots are imminent or occurring. Operating a vessel in gale conditions requires experience and proper equipment. Mariners without the proper vessel and experience should remain in port.
