Statewide average gas price up 3 cents to $2.45

The average price of a gallon of gasoline statewide rose 3 cents this week, AAA Hawaii reported today.

A gallon of regular averaged $2.45, up from $2.42 the previous week, the AAA said in its Hawaii Weekend Gas Watch.

In Honolulu, the average price was $2.37 a gallon, up 2 cents from last week. The Honolulu average was up 10 cents from a month ago, but $1.03 lower than a year ago.

In Hilo, the average price was $2.56 a gallon, up 6 cents from a week ago. It was 11 cents higher than a month ago, but $1 lower than a year ago.

The average price in Wailuku of $2.61 a gallon was up 5 cents from last week. It was up 12 cents from a month ago, but down $1.28 from a year ago.
