Bellows Beach to be closed because of expected high winds

Advertiser Staff

Bellows Beach Park will be closed for the weekend because of expected high winds, the city Department of Parks and Recreation announced today.

The closure results from a high-wind advisory issued by the National Weather Service.

City parks staff have been notifying campers with permits of the closure.

Bellows is controlled by the Air Force but usually opened to the public during weekends and holidays. This weekend, the park will remain under Air Force control and entrance gates will be manned.

The city said nearby Waimanalo Beach Park will remain open.
