CFB: Tebow files NFL draft paperwork

By DAVID JONES
Florida Today

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. — Florida quarterback Tim Tebow said at the Gator team's arrival in Fort Lauderale on Friday that he has officially filed his paperwork with the NFL to check on his draft status.

The Gators meet Oklahoma next Thursday night for the national title.

"I'm not even worried about it," Tebow said. "I'm excited to be here."

He said Percy Harvin should be completely recovered from an ankle injury that knocked him out of the SEC title game.

"I think he'll be ready to go," Tebow said. The same holds true from Dan Mullen, the UF offensive coordinator who has already taken the head coaching job at Mississippi State. Mullen has settled back in with the Gators for the BCS contest.

"He's been back for the last few weeks. ... He's focused," Tebow said. "He's ready to go. ... His No. 1 priority is this game right now."

Tebow was also happy that Steve Addazio has been named as the Gators' new offensive coordinator, starting after the bowl game.

"I think it was a great decision," Tebow said. "I think he has so much respect from our team, from our coaches. He does a great job. It's a great fit for him and our school."

As for his own future, Tebow confessed he wants to show pro scouts he's a top pro prospect as a quarterback.

"I think I want to do that every game, not just this game," he said.

NO DISTRACTIONS: Tebow said UF won't be distracted by South Florida and all the hype and attention the Gators are getting.

"I think for the guys who have played (for a national title) before, they know what it's about," Tebow said. "For everybody else, they're going to follow the leaders' example and do what we tell them and how we do everything. Our team's so focused I don't think we'll have many troubles."

Tebow said it "hits us that it's getting close" to finally playing for the national title.
