HAWAIIAN AIRLINES

Hawaiian Airlines has promoted Miranda Scott to senior director, business development. She will create online business opportunites for the firm and generate revenue online via vacation packages and travel-oriented services. She joined Hawaiian in 2007 as director of business development.

BELLA PIETRA

Bella Pietra natural stone company, has hired Sandra Oakes-Arriola as controller. She will be responsible for managing the company's accounting practices, including purchasing, taxes, inventory and reporting. She has 26 years of experience in the field.

GRASSROOT INSTITUTE OF HAWAII

The Grassroot Institute of Hawaii has hired veteran investigative reporter and producer Don Ray to write about waste, fraud and abuse in Hawai'i state and local government.

HO'ALA LANDSCAPE & MAINTENANCE

Ho'ala Landscape & Maintenance has promoted Ka'eo Gouveia to CEO and general manage, overseeing business operations and a staff of 68.

RITZ-CARLTON CLUB AND RESIDENCES

The Ritz-Carlton Club and Residences, Kapalua Bay has appointed Brian Nelson as principal broker. He will work with Maui's real estate brokerage community in support of the sales process for the new luxury development.

MOANA EVENTS

Amanda Corby has been hired as consulting director for Moana Events, a firm that provides event and wedding planning services, as well as event consulting services for companies and nonprofits.

BISHOP MUSEUM

Bishop Museum has announced the newest members of its board of directors:

Sanne Higgins, manager and director of the Higgins Family Foundation.

Anton Krucky, co-founder, president and chief executive officer of Tissue Genesis Inc.

Gulab Watumull, a successful businessman and longtime philanthropist who served previously on the board.

Museum officials also recognized the service of outgoing board member David Hulihe'e, who spent nine years on the board, three of which he served as chairman.

NATIVE HAWAIIAN ECONOMIC ALLIANCE

Ray Soon has been appointed vice president of the Native Hawaiian Economic Alliance.

Soon is chairman of a small technology firm in Waimanalo, former chairman of the Hawaiian Homes Commission and founding chairman of the Council for Native Hawaiian Advancement.

HOUSING HAWAII

Nani Medeiros, former deputy policy adviser to Gov. Linda Lingle, is the new executive director of Housing Hawaii, a nonprofit grass roots organization dedicated to creating and preserving affordable housing. Medeiros has more than 14 years of experience in policy development and legislative affairs.

CB RICHARD ELLIS

CB Richard Ellis has added Nancy Sakamoto to its Kailua, Kona, office staff. She will be a real estate manager in the asset services division, focusing on retail.
