A bicyclist was in critical condition last night after he was struck by a vehicle on Kamehameha Highway near Turtle Bay Resort, officials said.

The accident occurred just before 7 p.m. and resulted in the closure of Kamehameha Highway in both directions for three hours. The road was reopened shortly after 10 p.m., police said.

Bryan Cheplic, spokesman for the city's Emergency Services Department, said the accident left a man in his 50s in critical condition. The man was taken to a local trauma center.
