Man robbed, beaten during California test drive

Associated Press

SAN PABLO, Calif. — A man interested in buying a used car got a lot more than he bargained for when he went for a test drive.

Police say a 26-year-old man was attacked, beaten and robbed after meeting the supposed owner of a used Honda in a San Pablo parking lot Monday.

Investigators say during a stop in the test drive, the man pretending to be the owner of the car pulled a shotgun out of the trunk and demanded cash.

When the victim said he didn't have any money, he was hit several times with the barrel of the shotgun.

A second robber appeared and tackled the victim as he tried to run away.

The two robbers jumped back into the Honda and drove away.
