CBKB: Conference reprimands Wyoming coach

Associated Press

LARAMIE, Wyo. (AP) — Wyoming coach Heath Schroyer has been reprimanded by the Mountain West Conference for comments about the Cowboys' basketball schedule.

Schroyer was quoted in the Casper Star-Tribune earlier this month saying he didn't like Wyoming having to play five of its first eight league games on the road.

In addition, he said he didn't like having three back-to-back conference roads games on Wyoming's schedule.

The conference says Schroyer's remarks violated a conference rule that prohibits coaches from publicly criticizing or disparaging the conference.

UW spokesman John Paradis says Schroyer would not comment on the reprimand.
