University of Hawai'i's David Veikune has been invited to play in the Senior Bowl college football all-star game.

The game is 2 p.m. Hawai'i time Jan. 24 at Ladd-Peebles Stadium in Mobile, Ala. It will be telecast on the NFL Network.

Veikune, who is 6-foot-3 and 250 pounds, joins long-snapper Jake Ingram, who received an invitation the past week. Veikune projects to play defensive end in a 4-3 alignment or outside linebacker in a 3-4.

He started all 14 games this season for the Warriors, amassing 73 tackles, including a team-leading 16.5 tackles for loss (69 yards) and nine sacks (53 yards).

Veikune will turn down an invitation to the East-West Shrine Game, which will be played the week before the Senior Bowl.
