Funeral services were held today in Kaimuki for Mary Civille "Sue" Wesselkamper.

The longtime president of Chaminade University died a week ago today.

She had been diagnosed with cancer in 2005 and died from its complications. She was 66.

Wesselkamper's flower-bedecked casket was borne into St. Patrick's Church by six Chaminade students, who followed a chanter.

The most Rev. Larry Silva, bishop of Honolulu, presided over the Mass of the Resurrection.

An ecumenical memorial service for Wesselkamper is planned at a later date at Central Union Church. That service is expected to include eulogies and a performance of the Requiem by Gabriel Faure, with members of the Honolulu Symphony.

Wesselkamper is survived by her husband, Thomas Wesselkamper; daughter Suzanne; son David; and her two grandsons, Samson and Tomas Angel Wesselkamper.
