One week after a frustrating home loss to Boise State, the University of Hawai'i men's basketball team suffered a frustrating road loss to Boise State.

The Broncos defeated the Rainbow Warriors, 54-49, in a Western Athletic Conference game at the Taco Bell Arena in Boise, Idaho.

The 'Bows rallied from a 13-point deficit in the second half, but got out-scored 7-2 in the final minutes of the game.

Hawai'i dropped to 9-7 overall and 1-3 in the WAC. Boise State improved to 12-3 and 3-0, including two victories over the 'Bows.

The Broncos have won five consecutive games over Hawai'i since last season.

Roderick Flemings scored a game-high 17 points, but was the only Hawai'i player to score in double-figures. Petras Balocka added eight points and eight rebounds, and Brandon Adams scored seven.

Boise State had a 33-23 lead at halftime, and increased it to 37-24 early in the second half.

The ¹Bows got back in it with an 11-2 run that cut the Boise State lead to 40-38. Flemings then hit a 3-pointer to give Hawai'i its first lead of the game at 44-43 with 6:52 remaining.

The game stayed close the rest of the way.

Anthony Thomas' 3-pointer with 2:15 broke a 47-47 tie and gave the Broncos the lead for good. Thomas led Boise State with 13 points.

There was a similar script last week, when Boise State out-scored Hawai'i 12-2 in the final minutes of a 70-58 win in Honolulu.

The 'Bows are scheduled to return to Honolulu today. Their next game is scheduled for Saturday against San Jose State at the Stan Sheriff Center.
