Samurai movie fans and martial arts enthusiasts might want to head over to the Ala Moana Barnes & Noble at 1 p.m. today, when Scott Goto, author of "The Perfect Sword," stops in for a signing.
Keiki book reviewer Jolie Jean Cotton said Goto has used oil paintings to convey the look and feel of old samurai movies in a picture book that touches on the samurai philosophy, martial ethics, Japanese culture and history.
The book, aimed at children ages 4 to 8, tells the story of a swordsmith's apprentice whose sensei has created the perfect sword and needs to find the right owner.
