Marianists hit 125th milestone, celebrate with Jan. 24 Mass

Advertiser Staff

The 125th anniversary of the arrival of the Marianist Order in Hawaii will be celebrated with a special Mass with Bishop Larry Silva at 5 p.m. Jan. 24 at Mamiya Theatre on the Chaminade University campus.

Notable Hawaii residents have gone on to successful careers after their Marianist education, including the late Gov. John A. Burns, the late Mayor Neal Blaisdell and others.

Their arrival 125 years ago was greeted with a Mass of aloha, celebrated by Father Damien.

After the Mass, heavy pupus will be served.
