Banana Republic plans to close its store in Waikiki on Jan. 26 as part of a broad store realignment plan by parent company Gap Inc.

The store at 2080 Kalakaua Ave. in King Kalakaua Plaza is one of five Banana Republic stores in Hawai'i.

Catherine Rhoades, a Gap Inc. spokeswoman, said the company has not announced any other plans to close more Hawai'i stores in the Gap family, which also includes Old Navy.

In May, Gap Inc. announced a store realignment plan for its fiscal year ending in February that involves closing 115 stores and opening 100 stores.
