DLNR schedules talks on minimum size rules

The Department of Land and Natural Resources has scheduled additional public meetings on the Big Island to discuss establishing minimum size rules to protect parrotfish (uhu), goatfish (weke), and jacks (ulua/papio).

One of the meetings will be from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday at the meeting of the West Hawai'i Fisheries Council at the Honokohau Big Game Fishing Club in Kailua, Kona.

A Hilo meeting will be from 6 to 8:30 p.m. Jan. 27 at the county's Aupuni conference room at 101 Pauahi St.

DLNR previously announced meetings from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. tomorrow at the Maui Waena Elementary School cafeteria in Kahului, Maui, and from 6 to 8:30 p.m. Jan. 30 in Room 114 of the Electronics Technology Building at Kaua'i Community College.
