Volunteers wanted to plant trees at UH-Manoa

The University of Hawai'i is looking for volunteers to lay mulch and plant shade trees and ground cover Jan. 19.

Volunteer Planting Day will run from 9 a.m. to noon on the Manoa campus.

Participants should bring garden gloves and small hand tools, and wear head cover and sunscreen.

The trees and brush will be planted in the Varsity Gate area, from King Street to the Dole Street dormitory complex area.

Volunteers should report to the guard shack near the Kahanamoku Pool no later than 8:30 a.m. Jan. 19. To register for the event, e-mail UHM landscaping manager Roxanne Adams at adamsrox@hawaii.edu.
