Pearl City girls top Kapolei in OT

Shanise Gabriel-Yomes scored four of her eight points in overtime as host Pearl City beat Kapolei, 49-43, last night in a matchup of unbeaten O'ahu Interscholastic Association Red West teams.

Jordan Ahakuelo and Leina Basques each hit a free throw as Pearl City outscored Kapolei 6-0 in the four-minute extra period.

Keshia Manning scored 11 points and Glacen Florita added 10 for Pearl City. Florita made a field goal with 5 seconds left in regulation to send the game into overtime.

Nicole Fuataga scored 18 points and Danniel Tapat added 13 for Kapolei, which outscored Pearl City 22-11 in the fourth period.

Hoku Dela Cruz and Justine Aguas each scored 16 points, and Michelle Hardy added 13 as visiting Na Menehune held off the Falcons. Ashlyn Onaga scored 13 points and Jamie Higa added 11 for Kalani, which trailed 46-30 entering the fourth period. Na Menehune had a chance to extend the lead, but missed two free throws in the final seconds. Kalani inbounded with 0.4 seconds left, but couldn't score.
