Weather: Weak front may bring light showers

Advertiser Staff

A weak weather front was expected to reach Kaua'i overnight and O'ahu by sunrise today, the National Weather Service said.

The front will push rapidly to the east, reaching Maui County by this afternoon, forecasters said.

What's left of the dissolving front will reach the Big Island by this evening.

Clouds and limited showers along the front will affect each island in turn, with fresh northerly winds filling in behind the front.

Heavy rains and strong wind gusts are not expected to be part of the passing weather front, forecasters said.

Trade winds are expected to return across the state by tomorrow afternoon and are expected to last into the weekend.

Winds will become southeasterly again by Sunday or Monday as a weather feature develops west of the main islands.
