Tuvan throat-singing group perform at library

A Tuvan throat-singing group will perform and hold a demonstration at the Hawai'i State Library on Jan. 30.

The group, Tyva Kyzy, will sing and play a range of folk instruments.

The one-hour program starts at noon in the lobby of the library.

Tuva, a semi-autonomous republic of Russia, is isolated by its surrounding mountain ranges.

Two-thirds of the population are ethnic Tuvans, traditionally nomadic hunters and herders.
