Weather: Pleasant conditions to last a while

The trade winds are expected to blow back into town today, bringing with them the standard trade-wind weather pattern: clouds and a few light showers in the windward and mauka areas of most islands, the National Weather Service said.

The trades — and the mostly pleasant weather — are expected to persist through the weekend.

Here's a closer look at what's expected during the next few days:

Today: Mostly sunny, with a high near 77. Breezy, with a north wind between 17 and 20 mph, with gusts as high as 24 mph.

Tonight: Isolated showers. Partly cloudy, with a low around 65. East wind around 13 mph. Chance of precipitation is 20 percent.

Thursday: Sunny, with a high near 79. East wind around 16 mph, with gusts as high as 21 mph.

Thursday night: Mostly clear, with a low around 64. East wind around 15 mph, with gusts as high as 18 mph.

Friday: Sunny, with a high near 79. East wind around 15 mph, with gusts as high as 18 mph.

Friday night: Isolated showers. Partly cloudy, with a low around 66. East wind around 10 mph.
