The spa at the recently reopened Mauna Kea Beach Hotel will be operated by Mandara, the fourth in in Hawai'i for the the global spa company.

Mandara owner Steiner Leisure Ltd. said the 3,000-square-foot luxury facility will open sometime in March at the resort on the Big Island's Kohala Coast.

Mandara's other Hawai'i spas are at the Waikoloa Beach Marriott Resort on the Big Island, the Wailea Beach Marriott Resort on Maui, and the Hilton Hawaiian Village on O'ahu. Globally, Mandara operates spas on 130 cruise ships and at about 50 resorts. Steiner Leisure is based in Nassau, the Bahamas.

The Mauna Kea Beach Hotel reopened last months more than two years after being forced to close by extensive earthquake damage. The Laurance Rockefeller-built beachfront hotel underwent an extensive $150-million-dollar renovation that included, redesigned guest rooms, new restaurants, and an extensive makeover of the legendary golf course, complete with a new clubhouse.
