Weather: Mostly sunny through Friday

An area of high pressure north of the islands will keep trade winds blowing into the weekend, the National Weather Service said.

Showers will favor windward and mauka areas, with only light rainfall expected.

A weak front will affect the islands next week, according to the forecast.

Here's how the next few days are shaping up:

Today: Mostly sunny, with a high near 79. East wind around 16 mph, with gusts as high as 21 mph.

Tonight: Mostly clear, with a low around 64. East wind around 15 mph, with gusts as high as 18 mph.

Friday: Sunny, with a high near 79. East wind around 15 mph, with gusts as high as 18 mph.

Friday Night: Isolated showers. Partly cloudy, with a low around 66. East wind around 10 mph. Chance of precipitation is 20%.

Saturday: Isolated showers. Partly cloudy, with a high near 79. East wind around 11 mph. Chance of precipitation is 20%.

Saturday Night: Isolated showers. Partly cloudy, with a low around 67. East wind around 10 mph. Chance of precipitation is 20%.
