McCully Street remains closed in both directions between Citron and Date streets as repair work continues on a broken water main near the McCully-Date street intersection.

The break was reported Tuesday afternoon and Board of Water Supply crews have been working to repair it since then.

Recurring leaks in the system have forced crews to extend work. More than 20 feet of the main already have been replaced, but crews will keep working through today to install another 25 feet of pipe.

Area residents are without tap water, but water wagons are in place to provide potable water.
