PUKALANI
Meeting to discuss water from Upcountry plants

The Department of Water Supply will hold a public meeting at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday to discuss ways to reduce naturally occurring organic carbon in drinking water. The meeting will be at the Mayor Hannibal Tavares Community Center multipurpose room in Pukalani.

There will be a presentation on the relationship between natural organic matter and disinfection byproduct compounds, and summaries of preliminary findings on Upcountry water. Presenters from consultant Brown & Caldwell will discuss potential impacts on water rates to implement treatment processes at the Pi'iholo and Olinda water treatment facilities for Lower and Upper Kula, respectively.
