A 34-year-old man was charged yesterday in connection with the Dec. 22 stabbing of a man in Moanalua.

Joseph Pitts was charged with one count of second-degree attempted murder. His bail was set at $250,000.

Pitts is accused of stabbing a friend in the neck as the two sat in Pitts' car at Moanalualani Place and Ala Kupuna Street. The men got into an argument after Pitts accused the other man of sleeping with Pitt's girlfriend, according to a police affidavit filed in state District Court.

The victim told police Pitts stabbed him in the neck twice and that he noticed blood rolling down his neck and chest. He was also stabbed in the forearm.

The man got out of the car through a window and fled. He was taken to a hospital in critical condition, but was later upgraded to stable condition.

Police arrested Pitts that night near Kaiser Moanalua Medical Center.
