Ozomatli fans alerted about scalped tickets

A concert promoter is warning people to not buy scalped tickets to the Jan. 31 Ozomatli concert at Aloha Tower because about 200 tickets were stolen.

Rick Smoot of Tom Moffatt Productions said tickets with serial numbers 1003 through 1200 were stolen from a ticket outlet on Monday. Smoot said Moffatt Productions learned about the theft the following day.

Tickets with those serial numbers will not be honored, Smoot said.

"Hopefully, anyone planning to attend the concert will be smart enough not to buy a ticket off Joe Schmo on the street," Smoot said.

Anyone who shows up with one of the stolen tickets on the night of the concert "may be subject to questioning" and will not be allowed to enter, Smoot said.

He said 2,000 tickets were prepared for the event.

Anyone who comes across one of the tickets in question is asked to call 593-8333.
