AIRPORT
3 lanes of H-1 viaduct will be closed Sunday

The three left-most lanes of the H-1 Freeway Airport Viaduct westbound from the airport onramp to the Kamehameha Highway/Stadium/Arizona Memorial offramp will be closed from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday.

The closures will allow the Department of Transportation to conduct concrete pavement repair work.

All on-and-off-ramps will remain open during lane closures. Single lane closures may also be implemented on Nimitz Highway below the viaduct as a safety precaution.

Crews will use a fast-forming concrete to fill in potholes. To minimize vibrations along the viaduct while the concrete cures, the speed limit near the repair area will be reduced to 15 mph. Special duty police officers will be on-site to enforce this speed limit.

Westbound motorists are advised to use caution while driving through the work area and to allow for extra travel time or use alternate routes.
