Gov. Linda Lingle has received a list of six nominees to replace the retired Hawai'i Supreme Court Associate Justice Steven Levinson.

Lingle yesterday made public the list of nominees, saying she wanted to encourage public comment. The six candidates were compiled by the state Judicial Selection Commission.

The nominees are state appeals judges Mark Recktenwald (chief judge), Dan Foley and Craig Nakamura; Circuit Court judges Sabrina McKenna and Frances Wong; and attorney Steven Nakashima of the firm Marr, Hipp, Jones & Pepper.

People may submit comments on the nominees to governor.lingle@hawaii.gov or by fax at 586-0006. The deadline to submit comments is Jan. 30.
