LOUISVILLE, Ky. — The father of a high school football player who collapsed on the practice field and later died says he is constantly reminded of his son.

Jeff Gilpin told The Courier-Journal that those reminders come when he's sitting at a stoplight or listening to a song on the radio. His 15-year-old son, Max Gilpin, collapsed during practice at Pleasure Ridge Park High School in Louisville on Aug. 20 and died three days later.

Gilpin says he doesn't want this to happen to another child.

His son's coach, David Jason Stinson, has been indicted on a charge of reckless homicide, which carries a sentence of up to five years in prison. Stinson spoke to supporters who gathered at his home Saturday night, saying he will carry the burden of Gilpin's death for the rest of his life.
