My question to animal lovers out there: Would you take off your clothes to help your local animal shelter?

Fifteen respected community leaders, all women from Goldsboro, N.C., did just that to help the Wayne County Humane Society. They, like the characters in the British movie "Calendar Girls," bared it all to help raise money because they care about animals.

Wayne County Humane Society was in need of a new facility. The building was old and animals were stacked in cages because there was nowhere else to keep them. The county will donate $2 million for a new facility, but WCHS needed to come up with another $150,000.

To help raise the balance, these 15 women stripped down in front of the camera. The photos were tastefully done with private parts hidden behind pets and pets photos. Each woman got her own month and will be called Miss May 2009, etc.

The cover of the calendar is all 15 women naked at a conference room table, smiling, during a meeting. It's a fun photo with extreme shock value at first glance. Here's the link to the calendar which will come out in the spring: www.golds boro-wchs.org.

Talking to my 10-year-old niece, half-jokingly I asked her, "If we wanted to raise money to help animals like these women in North Carolina, which Hawai'i celebrities do you think would help sell calendars?"

The top of her list was Barack Obama. Second was Kane'ohe-born Mark Kanemura, from "So You Think You Can Dance?"

She's right! Barack Obama would sell millions of calendars!

My sister-in-law said, "I'd like Greg McMackin to pose!" Then my brother-in-law chimed in, "I can just see the pin-up on the UH locker walls."

Here are other celebrities that were added to our list after a night of brainstorming: Colt Brennan, Jasmine Trias, Marisa Yamane, Kim Gennaula, Keahi Tucker, B.J. Penn and Kelly Hu. Since it's for a good cause, I hope these celebs wouldn't mind doing it. It would certainly cause quite a stir!

Which Hawai'i celebrities do you think should pose for this calendar?
