The arrival of the first of more than 4,500 Stryker brigade and military police soldiers back to Hawai'i from Iraq has been delayed.

About 180 troops were originally scheduled to arrive later today,. They will now not arrive any earlier than 12:45 a.m. tomorrow, the Army said late this morning.

About 100 of the troops comprise the advance party of the 2nd Stryker Brigade Combat Team, 25th Infantry Division. The others are part of the 728th Military Police Battalion.

All the soldiers are based out of Schofield Barracks and are returning following a 15-month deployment to Iraq.
