Police today arrested one of two auto theft suspects in Kalihi Valley.

The second suspect remains at large.

Several residents reported seeing police vehicles pursuing a car back and forth through the valley beginning about 8:45 a.m.

At one point, the driver of the car jumped out and ran, with police officers chasing him.

By about 9:10 a.m., as many as 10 police cars lined the north-bound lanes of Likelike Highway as police peered down into the valley trying to locate the driver.

A second suspect, the passenger in the car, was taken into custody.
