Author Terri Farley, whose popular Phantom Stallion series of books has sold a million copies, is back with another read for horse-loving tweens. MARITIME CENTER HOSTS TALK ON CHINESE JUNK

Skipper Liu Ning-sheng of the Princess Taiping, a 54-foot replica of a Ming Dynasty sailing junk, gives a public talk at 6:30 p.m. tomorrow at the Hawai'i Maritime Center, Pier 7 in Honolulu Harbor. The talk is free for Bishop Museum members and $5 for everyone else. Junks are efficient and sturdy ships that were able to travel across the ocean as early as 200 A.D.
