'AIEA-PEARL CITY
Lawmakers to discuss transit project impacts

Elected officials from the 'Aiea and Pearl City areas will hold a community meeting at the Waimalu Elementary School cafeteria from 7 to 8:30 p.m. tomorrow to examine traffic and transportation issues in the area.

Focus will be on two projects in particular — the Kamehameha Highway Improvement Project from Center Drive to Waihona Street, a project being worked on by the state Department of Transportation, and the city's Honolulu High Capacity Corridor Project, which is expected to bring a mass-transit rail line through the area.

Officials from the city Department of Transportation Services and state Department of Transportation are expected to be on hand.
