Weather: Showers today, sun may return tomorrow

A stalled weather front will continue to bring clouds and showers to Maui County and Oahu today, the National Weather Service said.

The front will dissipate by Thursday morning and moderate trade winds will return, persisting into the weekend, forecasters said.

Here's a closer look at what to expect for the rest of the work week:

Today: Showers likely. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 75. East wind between 5 and 10 mph. Chance of precipitation is 70%. New rainfall amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch possible.

Tonight: Scattered showers. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 63. East wind around 11 mph. Chance of precipitation is 30%. New rainfall amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch possible.

Thursday: Sunny, with a high near 79. East wind around 11 mph.

Thursday Night: Isolated showers. Partly cloudy, with a low around 63. East wind around 13 mph. Chance of precipitation is 20%.

Friday: Sunny, with a high near 80. East wind around 11 mph.

Friday Night: Isolated showers. Partly cloudy, with a low around 67. East wind around 13 mph. Chance of precipitation is 20%.
